Marcos Rodriguez has dedicated his life and career to uplifting and advocating for at-risk youth. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience in juvenile justice and rehabilitation, his passion for creating positive change is deeply rooted in both professional experience and a personal commitment to serving those often overlooked by society.
Marcos began his journey in 2017 as a Juvenile Supervision Officer at the Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department, where he worked within the detention center directly supervising youth in custody. It was there that he developed a foundational understanding of the complex challenges faced by system-involved youth — from behavioral and emotional trauma to lack of consistent support and opportunity. His work in this high-stress environment sharpened his skills in crisis management, trauma-informed care, and youth development.
In 2020, his career took him to Rancho San Antonio Boys Home in Chatsworth, California — a residential treatment facility known for its structured, therapeutic programming for court-ordered male youth. At Rancho, Marcos worked specifically with youth adjudicated for sex offenses, providing close supervision, mentorship, and rehabilitation support within a highly specialized and emotionally demanding program. His role at Rancho required not only resilience and compassion but also a deep understanding of trauma, treatment modalities, and behavior intervention.
These experiences shaped his unwavering belief that every youth, regardless of their past, deserves a real chance at change — not just through punishment, but through opportunity, structure, and positive mentorship.
Marcos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2022, further strengthening his foundation in youth advocacy, justice reform, and public service.
In 2023, Marcos returned to Texas and began serving as a Juvenile Probation Officer with the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department. It was in this role that he witnessed a recurring and urgent need: system-involved youth lacking access to extracurricular activities, structured outlets, and safe, supportive environments outside of school or probation programming. Recognizing this gap, he founded The Fit Chance Project (FCP).
Through FCP, Marcos continues his mission of — empowering youth to build confidence, discipline, and community through movement, mentorship, and support.
He believes in this core truth: Strong Roots Build Strong Futures.
